It was the 1937 and Bernardino Chinzari, laboring over alembics and mountains herbs, was opening his distillery in the small village of Antrodoco in central Italy. A territory rich in history, crossroad between Lazio, Marche and Abruzzi.

WITH HIS WIFE FULVIA AND THEIR SONS, ARCIBALDO AND MATTEO,
A NEW AND BIGGER DISTILLERY WAS OPENED IN 1959

Then the activity passed to Aldo and Matteo, that apply themselvevs with industry and passion. The new liquor shop was provided with the state-of-art automation for that time and the Chinzari product range conquered a big market segment. The taste and the ingredients were well distinguished, the production included the Sambuca, the bitters, Maraschino, Brandi, Chartreuse and all the liquors belonging to the Italian scene. The bestsellers were Sambuca Amatriciana and Brandy Sancta Maria, whose popularity spread across Italy.

IN THE 90s THE ACTIVITY SHUT DOWN BUT LIQUORS HAD ALWAYS ACCOMPAINED THE CHINZARI FAMILY'S BEST MOMENTS
UNTIL THE OLD CLOSETS HAD BEEN REOPENED

It is now the turn of Caterina and Giulia, the nieces, 84 years later the first "Sambuca Amatriciana": They reopened the old drawers in which the ancient recipes of Bernardino had been kept and, fascinated by those tastes, revisiting the brand through their young and contemporary vision, and giving Chinzari a new color and radiance, still connecting it with its long tradition.
